I love to travel and have been to many countries around the world. This map gives an idea of the places that I have been. Most of these countries I have visited as a tourist, however I have lived and worked in Ireland and the USA and I have studied in England and Turkey (and of course Australia).

I know how lucky I am to have seen so much of the world and I use some of my travel stories in my classes. When talking about a particular country that I have been to I can describe some of the sights, smells and experiences that I had whilst there and bring in any relevant photos or souvenirs that I picked up during my travels. I have found that students really enjoy and appreciate these stories and become quite interested in learning more about different cultures. These type of lessons also open up discussion for students to talk about their own experiences and why they think it is important to understand more about the different countries and cultures in the world.
